Sales Training Tips:

Sales Training Course Success Series: Inspiration

Inspiration can help drive salespeople to do great things. What is your source of inspiration? Are you inspired by the feats of others? Or does your inspiration come from within, perhaps from a challenge you face in your own life that you want to overcome? Here are a few ideas for sources of inspiration you can use to help you achieve success.

Inspirational Stories
There are many places where you can get inspiration. It can come from a book you read, a movie you see, or something you observe. For example, the story of the champion horse Secretariat is a personal source of inspiration. It's a story about how perseverance, dedication and hard work on the part of the horse owner and her family led to Secretariat winning the Triple Crown, the sport's most coveted prize. Watching an inspirational movie or reading a book, may be just the motivation you need to achieve the goals in your own life.

Goals that Inspire
Personal goals can help provide you with inspiration if they're meaningful and create a passion within you. Write down your goals today and figure out a plan to achieve them. Goals combined with plans and action will make you unstoppable.

Find a Training Partner
Great athletes, business leaders and top salespeople often seek out others to help them achieve their objectives. Seeking advice from a sales manager and another salesperson could help you gain the critical insight you need for your ongoing improvement. Ask for sales tips from others. Read sales books and listen to audio programs. Do whatever it takes to learn and improve. We all need training partners in our efforts to achieve. Find one today.

Be a Role Model
Life is a two-way street. Seek out someone else, perhaps a newer salesperson, and help train them in the business of selling. Be an inspiration to them by setting a good example of professionalism in the field of selling. Role play, talk to them about selling challenges you've both encountered and bounce ideas off of each other. You'll help your fellow salesperson improve and learn a lot in the process.

Conclusion
We're all beacons of inspiration. You don't have to be a head of state or the CEO of a large corporation to be inspiring. You can do it right where you are whether you're a salesperson, sales manager or in the mail room. Whatever your station in life, in your own way, be an inspiration to those around you. Be all you can be and help others do the same.
