Golden Gate University Builds Team Skills to Better Serve
Prospective Students via Sales Training America
Golden Gate University, California's
fifth largest private university, focused on the needs of
working adults by offering undergraduate and graduate
programs in business and management, selected Sales Training
America to provide a focused two-day Telephone Selling
Skills program. Utilizing Sales Training America’
customer-centric Consultative Selling Skills methodology,
the program was designed with the concept of helping the
Golden Gate University team better understand and meet the
education needs and requirements of their prospective
students. By establishing a stronger understanding of these
prospective students and their needs, team members would be
able to ensure that the University met these needs in a
consistent and reliable manner.
The training program was delivered in the autumn of 2005 in
San Francisco, California and provided team members with an
interactive training workshop that reinforced key skills
while providing a safe environment for practice and skill
retention. Workshop materials and interactive exercises were
customized to more effectively mirror the real-life
situations faced by the admissions department employees. It
was this willingness by Sales Training America to ensure
materials were tailored that influenced Golden Gate
University’s decision to ultimate work with the company on
the training program.
