Handling Obstacles During Presentations Seminar

Seminar Outline:

Congratulations! You got through the big presentation without getting lost in your notes or having the PowerPoint slides freeze up. All you have to do is handle a few questions and you are home free … Oh no, not THAT question! … What will you do now?

You would smile and just keep rolling along if you have taken our unique, one-day seminar on Handling Obstacles During Presentations. The fact is, your work is not done simply because you are at the end of your notes. Some of the most important and effective minutes of your presentation start after you have asked, “Now, who has the first question?” The Q and A portion of any presentation is actually just an opportunity to continue reinforcing your main points in a relaxed, personal format. Even the toughest objection can simply become another venue for clarifying your position. Our experienced presentation instructors can teach you how to do this using a series of brief, videotaped scenarios. As you and your coach review the tape, you will receive immediate feedback to help you cultivate and smooth, confident style that will enable to handle anything that comes your way.

Seminar Objectives:

Participants in the Handling Obstacles During Presentations seminar will learn to:

  • Manage Question & Answer sessions by planning for questions when designing all phases of your presentation.
  • Answer questions succinctly if they are raised during the body of your speech, so they don't interrupt the flow.
  • Deflect any confrontational or irrelevant questions so they can be answered at a more convenient time.
  • Create a list of all the questions you hope no one asks, and then design a plan for answering them anyway.
  • Use the pace, tone, and pitch of your voice to create enthusiasm and interest in the audience.
  • Properly use visual aides to support your presentation.
  • Use body language and movement that is effective and not distracting to the audience.
  • Prepare a presentation using a simple but highly effective format.
  • Capture the audience’s attention within the first 60 seconds of the presentation.
