Negotiating to Resolve Conflict Seminar

Seminar Outline:

Conflict is a natural component of any relationship, whether it is at home, at work or in some other setting. Differing opinions and diverse needs often lead to conflicts over goals and outcomes. Unfortunately, very few people are equipped to effectively deal with conflict, generally choosing to either attack the other side or run away and hide. These choices only allow the problem to grow worse.

Negotiation to Resolve Conflict is our one-day training course that can help you understand how conflict develops and how to interact with all parties to discover effective solutions. This highly interactive, practice-driven class uses case studies, small group interaction, and videotaped role-plays to help you gain experience in using proven negotiation techniques in real-life situations. You will gain an understanding of the needs of different behavioral styles and how they can lead to misunderstanding and conflict, as well as ways to work with each of those styles to find peaceful solutions.

Seminar Objectives:

Participants in the Negotiating to Resolve Conflict seminar will learn to:

  • Practice good communications skills during negotiations.
  • Improve listening and communication skills via videotaped role-playing.
  • Minimize conflict and deadlocks through the application of appropriate negotiation techniques.
  • Understand the unique needs of different behavior styles, and how to work with them during a conflict negotiation.
  • Negotiate effectively with peers, subordinates, and superiors.
  • Help others focus on interests and not take positions.
  • Be more confident in their negotiation skills.
