Dealing With Difficult People Seminar

Seminar Outline:

If you encounter a rude, irresponsible or dishonest person in line at the supermarket, you can simply ignore her and get on with your life. But if this person is a part of your team at work, it is an entirely different matter, especially if she is good at her job and only bad at dealing with people. Most of the time, we simply avoid facing people who create uncomfortable social situations, but it doesn’t always have to be that way. It is sometimes possible, and necessary, to work with such persons in order to preserve and improve the working relationship.

In our Dealing with Difficult People seminar, we take you through a step-by-step strategy for that can help you understand and work with difficult people on the job, or anywhere else, for that matter. We refer to this as the strategy of breakthrough communications. We will show you how to get past an adversarial standoff by developing a set of communication tools that can open up dialogue, build trust, and resolve confusion. The class makes use of helpful role-plays and small group activities to give you hands-on practice in using these new skills so you will have confidence when you return to the work place.

Seminar Objectives:

Participants in the Dealing with Difficult People seminar will learn to:

  • Strengthen relationships through the use of effective communications skills.
