Seminar Outline:

Advanced Negotiations Skills -- the name says it all. This course is for people who want, or who need, to develop effective skills in the more complex and challenging aspects of the negotiation process. In this fast-paced, highly interactive one-day course, we help you look at the negotiations process as it relates to the ongoing demands of your business plan. We strongly encourage all participants to complete our Win-Win Negotiations (or equivalent) before enrolling in the advanced class.

At the advanced level, we will apply the concepts learned in the basic class to help you deal with complex situations involving negotiating teams, multi-party negotiations, and negotiators of varying skill levels. We focus special attention on the team as an effective negotiating unit, and make extensive use of case studies to provide practice in real world situations. Further practice using role-plays and small group activities provides immediate feedback that you can use to refine your skills.

Seminar Objectives:

Participants in the Advanced Negotiation Skills seminar will learn to:

  • Reinforce fundamental skills learned in previous seminars and apply them to more complex negotiations
  • Create a balance of power between negotiating parties in order to reach a satisfying conclusion
  • Develop a common negotiating language with other parties
  • Form effective negotiating teams
  • Understand the role of negotiations in achieving key business objectives
  • Conduct both face-to-face and telephone negotiations with a high degree of skill and effectiveness
