Sales Training America to Deliver Assertiveness Training for JNESO

JNESO, a professional union serving health care workers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, has asked Sales Training America to lead Assertiveness Training for its members. The union was seeking a flexible training partner to address its membership's need for more assertive communication in the workplace. JNESO's members include nurses and other health care workers such as LPNs, pharmacists and licensed technical employees of hospitals and clinics, where effective and assertive communication can influence the quality of health care for patients as well as helping industry workers. After reviewing the content of STA's Assertiveness Training program and meeting the expert instructor, the organization was confident that it had found a training company with the ability to meet its needs.

A Senior-Level Instructor and Assertiveness Training Expert from Sales Training America will travel to Mount Poconos, Pennsylvania to meet with nurses and members of JNESO. Participants in this highly interactive training event will gain experience using assertive communication skills, practicing the use of "I" statements and learning the difference between assertiveness and aggressiveness. They will discover techniques for identifying others' Behavioral Styles and how best to communicate with different people in conversational, negotiation, and conflict situations. Throughout the workshop, JNESO members will learn and practice powerful communication tools such as the use of body language and verbal skills to enhance effective and assertive communication.

About JNESO

JNESO is a professional union serving health care workers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Located in New Brunswick, NJ, the union represents 5,000 hospital and clinic workers, including nurses, LPNs, pharmacists and most licensed technical employees. JNESO began in 1958 as the Jersey Nurses Economic Security Organization, a euphemism for the Union Division of the State Nurses Association. In 1985, the JNESO membership voted to leave the State Association as an independent union and officially changed its name to JNESO. Since then, the organization has expanded its membership base to include other professional and technical employees in the health care field, and has extended its influence to other states. 1992 brought affiliation with the twelfth largest international in the AFL-CIO, the International Union of Operating Engineers. As the first health care union ever affiliated with the giant international, JNESO has been chartered as District Council. The IUOE connection has enabled JNESO to continue its slow, steady growth as a major player in health care while maintaining the autonomy and self-direction demanded by their independent-minded membership.
